Armodafinil is a Central Nervous System wakefulness modulator and is the R-enantiomer of Modafinil. As the more pharmacologically active isomer, it may offer a longer half-life and potentially more sustained effects. It can be used in treating various symptoms of excessive sleepiness conditions like Shift-Work Disorder, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Narcolepsy. While it is structurally and pharmacologically similar to Modafinil, Armodafinil provides prolonged alertness due to its extended duration of action.
